Created in 1974, the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) is a public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy. It is the first vocational training operator in Morocco and represents, for the vocational training system, the reference institution.

Main missions:
1.Develop training to improve the skills of young people, thus ensuring their integration, and meeting the needs of the economy in terms of qualified human resources
2. Provide on-the-job training to support the development of business competitiveness
3. Develop the employability of young people, through skills training and support for business creation
The OFPPT provides training through different institutes and centers. Among them, we can mention:
- Institutes of Applied Technology (ITA)
- Higher Institutes of Applied Technology (ISTA)
- Specialized Institutes of Technology (IST)
- Specialized Institutes of Hospitality and Tourism (ISHT)
- Specialized Institutes of Hospitality and Catering (ISHR)
- Specialized Institutes of Management and Informatics (ISGI)
- Vocational qualification center (CQP)
The OFPPT has 436,000 Trainees in 2015/2016 including:
- 38% in industry occupations
- 17% in construction
- 9% in Tourist Hospitality
- 9% in ICT
- 26% in the Tertiary sector
- 1% in Transport and Logistics
300 trades including 103 qualifying courses, 17 courses in BAC PRO
10,040 employees including nearly 7,900 trainers
In 2018-2019, the training network will reach 370 institutions, with a capacity of 592,000 teaching places in initial training. It offers training in 20 training sectors (http://www.ofppt.ma/index.php/profit-services2/sectors-of-training) and provides national coverage.
OFPPT has also expanded its offer in Africa; 54 agreements were concluded with 35 African countries for the upgrading of training schemes, the training of trainers and technico-pedagogical staff, the training of trainees …etc. Also, 1000 educational places are reserved, each year, for African trainees, against only 32 in 2005/2006.
In addition, the OFPPT supports the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development, in the creation of 8 vocational training centers, in Ivory Coast, Mali, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Senegal, Ethiopia, Madagascar , and Nigeria, in the fields of construction, hotels, restaurants, logistics and entrepreneurship.
