Objectives

Establishing the good name and international prestige of Bulgaria
Improving socio-economic development and good governance, leading to sustainable and inclusive economic development, poverty reduction and prosperity

Repair, reconstruction or equipment of state or municipal educational or health infrastructure
Organization of seminars, forums and other events for exchange of experience in building democratic institutions and the development of the non-governmental sector

Organizing training courses for employees of state and local administration

Priorities

The priority areas and directions for the implementation of projects on the territory of Morocco are:

Capacity building in support of security and development by providing expertise and experience for the processes of democratization and development of the civil sector, etc.
Protection and guarantee of human rights, including children’s rights, gender equality, etc.
Capacity building in healthcare in terms of overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sustainable management in the field of agriculture and food;
Support for sustainable development, creation of sustainable employment on the ground, development of entrepreneurship. Support for initiatives for expanding mutual trade and investment activities, for seminars and trainings, etc.

This is an ongoing opportunity and no deadline has yet been set.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Rabat announces a procedure for acceptance and selection of proposals for projects that will be implemented with grants within the official development assistance of the Republic of Bulgaria with an initial implementation period in 2023.

Budget:

1.The minimum allowable value of a project is BGN 5,000. 2.The recommended maximum value of a project is: 2.1 for projects whose main purpose is the supply of goods and / or provision of services – up to BGN 70,000; 2.2 for projects whose main purpose is to carry out repair and / or construction activities – from 70,000 to 270,000 BGN; 3.The co-financing of project activities provided by the applicant will be considered as an advantage in the evaluation, selection and approval of projects.

Eligibility for this NOFO is not restricted, except individuals and governments.
The Applicant must have established financial management, monitoring and evaluation processes, internal control systems, and policies and procedures that comply with established U.S. Government standards, laws, and regulations. The successful Applicant(s) will be subject to a positive risk assessment by the Agreement Officer (AO).
A positive risk assessment means that the applicant possesses or has the ability to obtain the necessary management competence to plan and carry out the assistance program to be funded, and that the applicant will practice mutually agreed upon methods of accountability for funds and other assets provided by USAID.

Development of new / updating existing training modules
Organizing and conducting trainings for the employees of the administration of the partner country
Conducting trainings on specific topics in Bulgarian institutions for exchange of good practices and raising the qualification of the employees of the administration of the partner country
Arranging and conducting seminars, forums, conferences
Development of research and strategies
Awareness raising activities for citizens’ rights
Activities to promote multicultural dialogue and to reduce racism, xenophobia, hate speech, discrimination and intolerance in society
Activities to improve dialogue between NGOs and local, regional and national authorities
